The short answer

To make bingo cards, choose a theme or type at least 24 words (8 for a 3×3 card), pick the grid size and how many cards you need, and download the PDF. Each card is different, carries its own number, and the last page is a call sheet. Standard US bingo uses a 5×5 card with a free centre square.

How it works

From list to a game in four steps

  1. Step 1: Pick a theme or type your words

Start from a ready word list or paste your own, one per line. The preview shows a real card as you type.

  2. Step 2: Choose the size and how many cards

3×3 for young children, 5×5 for the classic game. One card per player, plus a few spare.

  3. Step 3: Print, or send the link to phones

Download the PDF with the call sheet on the last page, or share one link and every phone gets its own card.

  4. Step 4: Call the game on screen

Open the caller on a laptop or TV. It calls at random, reads each call aloud, and checks any card by its number.

How to win

Winning patterns, from quickest to longest

Standard US bingo uses 75 balls on a 5×5 card with a free centre; UK bingo and Tambola use 90. Pick the pattern before the first call.

Calls until the first winner

Measured, not guessed: these are the median results of 200 games per row, dealt by the same engine that makes your cards, with every card checked after each call.

A longer word list makes a longer game: with only 24 words every card holds the same words, and the first line falls after about 8 calls. At one call every ten seconds, a 75-ball blackout takes around 11 minutes.

Four things worth knowing

  • Give it more words than squares

A 5×5 card needs 24 words, but a list of 40 or more means each card draws a different mix. With exactly 24, every card holds the same words and the whole room finishes on the same call.

  • Print one per player, and a few spare

Someone always arrives late or spills a drink. Five spare cards cost nothing, and the numbers stay checkable because every card carries its own.

  • Keep entries short

Two or three words fit a square comfortably when printed four to a page. Long phrases shrink to fit, which is fine on one card a page and harder to read on four.

  • Use 3×3 for small children

Nine squares with pictures or short words keeps a game under ten minutes, which is about as long as five-year-olds will sit for it.

No accounts, no player data

Cards and the PDF are made by your own browser. Phone play works without a server at all: the game travels in the link after the # mark, which browsers never send anywhere, and each phone deals its own card from the game number. The caller checks a win by dealing the same card again from its number. There is no list of players, because there is nowhere for one to be kept.

  • No sign-up for the host or the players
  • No names collected, ever
  • Your word list never leaves the device
  • No ads on the caller or on players' cards
  • No ads printed on the PDF
FAQ

Questions people ask

Anything we've missed?

How many words do I need for bingo cards?

At least as many as the card has squares: 24 for 5×5 with a free centre, 16 for 4×4, 8 for 3×3 with a free centre. For cards that feel different from each other, aim for about half as many again — 36 to 40 for a 5×5 game.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every theme, any number of cards up to 500 at a time, the caller screen and phone play are free, with no account. The pages carry ads; the printed cards, the caller screen and the players' phone cards never do.

Are the cards actually different from each other?

Yes. Each card in a game is checked against every card before it, and a repeat is thrown away and redrawn, so no two card numbers in one game carry the same squares in the same places. With a small word list the cards will still share many words — they simply sit in different places.

How do I check a winner?

Every card is printed with a card number and a game number. On the caller screen, type the card number into Check a card: it rebuilds that card from the game number, marks what has been called, and names any line, corners or blackout it has completed. You never need to collect the card.

Does anything get uploaded?

No. The cards and the PDF are made in your browser. Phone play works by putting the game in the link itself, after the # mark, which browsers do not send to any server. There are no accounts and no player names.

Can I use this for a classroom?

Yes, and the sight words, animals and food packs are there for exactly that. Print on A4 or US Letter, one, two or four cards to a page, and the call sheet doubles as your answer list.

What paper size should I use?

The tool picks US Letter or A4 from your browser's region, and you can switch. Cards are laid out with half-inch margins, which every home printer can print to without clipping.
