30-second setup: match a card, then measure
Accurate for this screen
Hold the card flat against the screen, one corner on the outline's top-left corner, and press + or − until the outline matches the card's edges exactly.
For a laptop or monitor whose size you know. Enter the diagonal as sold — 13.3, 15.6, 24, 27. A card is more accurate, because the advertised size is rounded.
Kept on this device only
Lay the bangle flat on the circle. Press + or − until the circle just fills the inside of the bangle.
The circle is wider than this screen. Match the top and bottom edges; the sides can hang off.

Kadas use the same sizes.
No bangle? Measure your hand
Tuck your thumb in towards your little finger, as if slipping a bangle on, and wrap a string round the widest part of the hand, over the knuckles — snug, not tight. Measure the string with a tape, or on the online ruler.

Bangle size finder — measure a bangle or your hand
Lay a bangle that fits on the circle and match it to the inside edge, or measure round your hand with the thumb tucked in. Either way you get the Indian size, kadas included.
The short answer
To find your bangle size at home, calibrate the screen with a bank card, lay a bangle that fits on the on-screen circle and match the circle to the bangle's inside edge. Indian sizes name that inner diameter: 2-4 means 2 and 4/16 inches, 57.2 mm, and each size up adds 1.6 mm. With no bangle, wrap a string round the widest part of your hand with the thumb tucked towards the little finger. A bangle's inside circumference must be at least that long, so 2-4, which is 179.5 mm round, fits a hand up to 179.5 mm. Between two sizes, take the larger.
Four steps to the right size
Step 1: Calibrate with a card
Hold any bank card against the screen and match the outline to it. It takes a few seconds and is remembered on this device, for every measuring tool here.
Step 2: Lay the bangle on the circle
Use a bangle that slips over your hand comfortably. Rest it flat, centred on the circle. On a phone its sides can hang off the screen.
Step 3: Match the inside edge
Press + or − until the circle just fills the inside of the bangle at the top and the bottom: no gap of screen showing, none of the circle hidden under the metal.
Step 4: Read the size
The Indian size shows with the inner diameter in mm and inches. No bangle to hand? Type your hand measurement beside the circle instead.

Size 2-N is 2 + N/16 inches across the inside, so each size adds 1.6 mm of diameter and about 5 mm round the inside. The even sizes, in bold, are the ones most shops stock. Kadas use the same scale. Jewellers' charts round the millimetres differently, so when ordering, give the diameter in mm as well.
What moves a bangle reading
Match the inside at its narrowest
A bangle's size is the opening, not the metal. A bangle with a rounded inside is narrowest halfway up, and that is the edge that has to pass over your knuckles, so match the circle to the innermost edge you can see.
Look straight down, from a distance
A tall bangle or kada holds its inner edge a few millimetres above the glass, and up close that edge looks wider than it is — at reading distance, by up to half a size. Lift your head 40 cm or more above the screen and look straight down.
Between sizes, go up
A bangle has no clasp. One that is a little small will not go over the hand at all; one that is a little loose is how bangles are worn. Bangles that open on a hinge or screw are the exception — follow that jeweller's chart.
Old bangles go oval
A bangle worn for years can be slightly squashed. Match it, turn it a quarter turn and match again. If the two readings differ, the bangle's true size is about halfway between them.
One number, kept on your device
The calibration is a single figure — pixels per millimetre for this screen — stored in your own browser. Nothing you measure is sent anywhere, and there is no account. The margin of error is shown beside every result, because a tool that hides it is guessing on your behalf.

Questions people ask
Anything we've missed?
What does bangle size 2-4 mean?
Two and four-sixteenths inches across the inside: 2.25 inches, or 57.2 mm. The number after the dash counts sixteenths of an inch, so 2-6 is 2⅜ in (60.3 mm), 2-8 is 2½ in (63.5 mm) and 2-10 is 2⅝ in (66.7 mm). The same sizes are often written 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 2.10 — and 2.10 is larger than 2.8, not smaller.
How do I measure my bangle size without a bangle?
Bring your thumb in towards your little finger, as if slipping a bangle on, and wrap a string or soft tape round the widest part of the hand, over the knuckles. Measure the string and type the length in beside the circle, in cm or inches. The tool picks the smallest size whose inside circumference is at least that long, because a bangle has to pass over the hand.
Should I choose the bigger size if I am between two?
Yes, for a solid bangle or kada. It has to pass over the knuckles, so one that is slightly small will not go on. Bangles that open on a hinge or a screw are the exception: they close round the wrist, so follow that jeweller's own chart for them.
What size kada does a man need?
Kadas use the same scale as bangles and are usually stocked in the larger sizes, from about 2-8 upwards. Lay a kada that fits on the circle, or measure your hand with the thumb tucked in exactly as for a bangle. A heavy kada is usually worn loose, so between sizes, go up.
How accurate is an on-screen bangle sizer?
After calibration one pixel on a phone is under 0.2 mm, about a tenth of a bangle size, so the circle is not the weak point. What moves a reading is looking at a tall bangle from close up or at an angle, or a bangle that is no longer round. The page shows the margin for your screen. For gold, or anything you cannot return, confirm the size with the jeweller.
How do I measure for an anklet (payal)?
With a string: wrap it round the ankle where the payal will sit, usually just above the ankle bone, snug but not tight. Mark it, measure the length and add 1 to 2.5 cm — half an inch to an inch — so it moves freely. Payals are sold by length, so that total is the number to ask for. There is no on-screen method for anklets here.
Why do I have to calibrate first?
Because a browser does not know how big your screen is. Web pages assume 96 pixels to the inch, and almost no real screen matches that, so an uncalibrated on-screen ruler can be out by 30% or more. Matching an outline to a bank card once tells the page how many pixels make a millimetre on your screen.
Do I have to calibrate every time?
No. The calibration is kept on this device, in this browser, and every measuring tool on Spolvero uses it. You are asked again only if the browser zoom changes, because zoom changes the size of everything on the page.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The calibration is one number stored in your own browser. Nothing you measure is sent anywhere, and the tools work with the connection switched off once the page has loaded.
