Check your gear before the call starts
Small browser tools that tell you whether your camera, microphone, speakers, keyboard and screen actually work — and what to do when they don't. Nothing to install, and nothing you test leaves your device.

Webcam Test
Check your camera in 3 seconds.
See your webcam, get a readiness score, and find out if your resolution, frame rate and lighting are good enough for a call. Nothing is uploaded — the video never leaves your browser.

Online Mirror
A mirror with light, zoom and Ghost Pose.
Use your webcam as a mirror: zoom in, freeze, light your face with a bright screen border, see the true un-flipped view, or match a pose with Ghost Pose. Nothing is uploaded.

Mic Test
Hear yourself before they do.
Speak for five seconds and get a plain answer: clear, too quiet, noisy or distorting — with playback so you hear yourself. Nothing is uploaded.

Speaker Test
Left, right, and is it loud enough?
Play a test tone through each channel and confirm the right output device is selected before your call starts.

Keyboard Test
Test every key, and find out why it double-types.
Press every key on a real layout, then catch chatter (double-typing), ghosting and stuck keys — with a mouse test alongside. Nothing is logged.

Mouse Test
Catch the double-click fault before you blame the software.
Check every mouse button and the scroll wheel, catch a switch that double-clicks on its own, and measure clicks per second.

Dead Pixel Test
Check a new screen before the return window closes.
Full-screen colour fields that make dead pixels, stuck pixels and backlight bleed easy to spot.

Laptop Check
Nine checks, fifteen minutes, one printed record.
One checklist for a second-hand or new laptop: screen, keyboard, trackpad, camera, mic, speakers, ports and battery, with what the browser can read about the machine, ending in a page you can print or save as a PDF.

The webcam test has a page for each place people use it.
How the device tests work
Which test do you need?
People on a call say they cannot see you: start with the webcam test, which gives a readiness score for resolution, frame rate and light. They say you sound far away, quiet or crackly: the mic test listens for five seconds and tells you which of those it is, with playback so you hear what they hear. You cannot hear them: the speaker test plays a tone through each channel, so you know the right output is selected.
For hardware rather than calls, the keyboard test catches keys that type twice, keys that drop when others are held, and keys that never register. The mouse test checks every button and the wheel and catches a switch that double-clicks on its own. The dead pixel test fills the screen with flat colours that make stuck pixels and backlight bleed easy to see. Buying a laptop, new or used, the laptop check walks through all of it in one list.
What happens to your camera and microphone
Each test runs inside your browser tab. The browser asks before the page can use your camera or microphone, and the video and sound are analysed on your device. Nothing you test is uploaded, and there is no account to make. Close the tab and the permission ends with it.
What a browser cannot tell you
A browser sees what the operating system hands it. It cannot read battery health, disk health or temperatures, and it shows the most keys it saw held at once, which can be lower than a keyboard's real limit. Where a result has a limit like that, the test says so next to the result instead of guessing.
Before you open one
Are the device tests free?
Yes. Every test is free, needs no sign-up and installs nothing. They run in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
Is my video or voice recorded or uploaded?
No. The camera and microphone are analysed in your browser tab, on your device. Nothing is sent to Spolvero, and closing the tab ends the browser's permission.
Why does my browser ask for permission?
Browsers never let a page use a camera or microphone without asking. If you blocked it once, the test explains how to allow it again in your browser's site settings.
Do the tests work on a phone?
The webcam, mirror, mic, speaker and dead pixel tests work in phone browsers. The keyboard and mouse tests need the keyboard or mouse you want to test.
Not sure where to start?
The webcam test takes a few seconds: a readiness score for your camera, and the video never leaves your browser.
