The short answer

To announce a pregnancy with a puzzle, add your scan or photo, choose 24–48 pieces so it is solved in a few minutes, write your announcement as the message and send the link. The news appears only when the puzzle is finished.

How it works

From photo to gift in a minute

  1. Step 1: Choose the picture

A scan, a positive test, a bump photo, or something that gives it away only when it is complete — a tiny outfit, a pair of shoes.

  2. Step 2: Keep it quick

24 to 48 pieces. The reveal is the point, and you want them to reach it while you are watching.

  3. Step 3: Write the news

The message is hidden until the end: the due date, "You're going to be grandparents!", or the baby's nickname.

  4. Step 4: Send it and watch

Send the link during a video call, or sit next to them. The photo is encrypted before it leaves your phone.

Ideas

Ways people use it

  • For grandparents-to-be

Use a photo of the grandparents themselves holding you as a baby, with "Your turn again!" as the message.

  • For a sibling

A photo of their bedroom or toys with the message "You're going to be a big sister". Keep it to 12–24 pieces for a small child.

  • For friends far away

Send one link in the group chat and see who finishes first.

  • The scan, cropped

Crop the scan so the first pieces look like abstract shapes. It becomes obvious only near the end.

How many pieces

Pick by who's solving it

For a gift someone finishes in one sitting, 36–100 pieces works best. Times are a rough guide — busy pictures take longer than simple ones.

Even we can't see your photo

When you play, the photo is cut into pieces by your own browser and never uploaded. When you send it, your browser encrypts the photo and message with a new random key before anything leaves your device. The key is written into the link after the # — the part of a web address that browsers keep to themselves and never send to a server. We store a file we cannot open, and delete it after 30 days.

  • Playing uploads nothing
  • Shared photos are encrypted with AES-256 in your browser
  • The key lives only in the link, never on our server
  • Encrypted copies are deleted after 30 days
  • No ads on the puzzle board or the reveal
  • Your photos are never shown in any gallery
FAQ

Questions people ask

Anything we've missed?

Is my scan photo private?

When you send a puzzle, the photo is encrypted in your browser and the key is kept in the part of the link after the #, which browsers never send to any server. We store only an unreadable file, and it is deleted after 30 days. When you just play, nothing is uploaded at all.

How many pieces for a pregnancy reveal?

24 to 48. Most adults finish 36 pieces in three to eight minutes, which keeps everyone's attention for the reveal.

Will a link preview give away the photo?

No. When the link is pasted into a chat, the preview shows a generic "Someone sent you a puzzle" card. The photo cannot be shown there because the server cannot decrypt it.

Can I use it for a gender reveal?

Yes. Use a pink or blue picture, or write "It's a girl!" or "It's a boy!" as the message so the answer appears only when the puzzle is complete.

Is my photo uploaded?

Not when you play. The photo is read and cut into pieces inside your browser, and saved progress stays on your device. It is only uploaded if you press Send — and then it is encrypted first.

How does the private share link work?

Your browser encrypts the photo and message with a random key (AES-256-GCM). We store the encrypted file; the key is put in the part of the link after the #, which browsers never send to a server. Without the full link, the file is unreadable — including to us. Links expire after 30 days.
