The most asked category after timing. An upay is the tradition's answer to a hard period: strengthen the graha whose period it is, on its own day, with its mantra, its fast and what it governs given in charity. Here is the system, the questions people ask, and the free practices the app lists.

Tell the chat above your birth date, time and place, and your question is read from the houses, grahas and dasha the tradition uses for it — free, computed in your browser, and never sent anywhere.

How Jyotish reads it

Which houses, which grahas

  1. A remedy is aimed at a graha, not a problem: the lord of the running dasha, the lord of the afflicted house, or the graha causing the affliction — and only when that graha is weak or afflicted. A strong graha, exalted or in its own sign, is given no remedy; strengthening it further is not advised. Each weak graha has a day, a mantra, a fast and a charity; that is the classical upay.

  2. The Lal Kitab tradition adds everyday, low-cost remedies — a copper coin in flowing water, feeding a cow, respecting a relative the graha stands for — which the app lists beside the classical ones.

  3. Gemstones are a strengthening remedy and can strengthen the wrong graha; the texts are careful about them. This site recommends none, and the app sells none.

  4. The best upay is the one done: a Saturday lamp for Saturn kept for months is read as worth more than a ritual done once.

The answers

What the chart can say

Every question here is one of a few kinds. The tradition has a way of reading each kind; this is it, in the words the app uses.

What upay should I do?

The remedy for any matter is the upay of the graha behind it — the dasha lord, or the lord of the house concerned. The kundli tool names both and lists their classical and Lal Kitab practices; every one is free and done at home.

What should I do?

Start with the dasha lord's day: its mantra, a simple fast if you can, and its charity. Add the lagna lord. The app's graha guide gives the exact practice for each of the nine.

Will it happen?

Whether an upay works is not something the tradition promises; it describes the practice as strengthening the graha over time. What a reading can say is which graha needs it, and that a gemstone is not the first step.

Want to ask back, the way you would an astrologer?

The Jyotish app answers in your words — Hindi, Hinglish or English — from the chart on your phone, asks a question back when it needs to, and shows the placement and the rule under every sentence. Health, money and legal questions are declined, not guessed.

What to do

The upay the tradition gives

A remedy is aimed at a graha, and only at a weak or afflicted one — a strong graha needs none. These are the grahas most often behind this topic, with the free practices the Jyotish app lists; the kundli tool checks whether yours are weak before it suggests any.
