Best ring light for video calls
For video calls, a small light in front of your face fixes more than a new webcam. A small light like the Digitek LED-D11W is the cheapest fix, the Neewer NL-60AI clips to a laptop with adjustable warm-to-cool light, and the Kreo Slab on its own desk stand gives the most even light.

Where the light goes matters most
Light from behind you (a window, a bright wall) turns your face into a silhouette. Light from above leaves shadows under the eyes. Light from directly in front of you, a little above eye level, is what makes a webcam look its best. Any of the three below does that; the difference is how they mount.
Open the free Online Mirror, move the light around and watch your face change before you buy anything. It shows the same picture a call gets.
Warm or cool light
Colour temperature is measured in kelvin: around 3000K is warm and yellow like a bulb, around 5600K to 6500K is cool like daylight. Match the light to the room. In a room lit by a warm bulb, a cool light makes one side of your face blue; all three lights below let you switch.
Ring or panel, and glasses
A ring light shows as a ring reflected in glasses and in the eyes. A small square panel shows as a small square, which most people notice less. If you wear glasses, raise the light a little and tilt it down, so the reflection falls below your eyes.

How these were picked
These are not hands-on reviews. The picks come from Amazon.in best sellers rated 4 stars or more by buyers, compared on the specifications their makers publish; each fact says where it was read, on 6 October 2026. The price bands were right that day, and Amazon prices change daily, so check the listing before you buy. Product photos come from each maker's own website and belong to the maker. The freeOnline Mirror on this site is the hands-on part: run it on what you have now, and again on what you buy.

Do I need a ring light for Zoom calls?
You need light in front of your face; a ring light is one way to get it. A window in front of you works too. If your face looks dark or shadowed in the Online Mirror, a small light is the cheapest fix.
Ring light or panel light for glasses?
A small panel usually shows a less noticeable reflection than a ring. Raise the light and tilt it down so the reflection falls below your eyes.
What colour temperature should I use?
Match the room: warm (about 3000K) under yellow bulbs, cool (about 5600K) near daylight. Mixed colours make one side of the face look blue or orange.
Will a light fix a grainy webcam?
Often, yes. Webcams turn up their gain in dim light and that adds grain; more light lets them turn it down. Run the Webcam Test with the light on and off to see the difference.
